I believe clutter exerts a powerful negative influence on our consciousness.
Tidying a space can lead to profound and unexpected changes in our lives.
E.B. White’s office. An exemplar of tidiness.
I became interested in tidying many years ago when I read Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. While it's often derogatorily billed as a "self-help book," I found it to be a profound spiritual text: a lamentation of our society's materialism, and a paean to the power of tidiness.
Putting her principles into practice, I indeed experienced the magic of more joyful life. When I helped family members tidy, I realized how hard it actually is. Our possessions aren’t just material objects, but reservoirs of memories, emotions, psychological blocks, unfulfilled dreams, and attachments. Dealing with an object requires dealing with all of those things as well.
That's what I'm here to do: to help you get organized, and by processing your things, to help you process your life—and yes, perhaps experience some life-changing magic along the way.
